Innovative technologies, sound waves, unique design, ADIA Design Award and the highest quality workmanship – you will not believe it, but this is how we would describe the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean toothbrush.
Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Toothbrush Consumer Report 2020
You may be asking yourself, in the case of a toothbrush, is there a chance for innovation? After all, this equipment is purely functional, to brush your teeth and nothing else. But Philips’ approach to cleaning teeth shows that new technologies can be used even in such a seemingly very specialized device.
From the very first contact with Philips Sonicare DiamondClean, we know that we are dealing with high quality equipment. Some smartphone makers could learn a lot from the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean packaging. The toothbrush is in a plastic case, which is covered from the inside with a velvet material that is pleasant to the touch, which also serves as a charger.
The set includes a seemingly ordinary glass cup with a cup holder, but it is also a charger. At first it seemed that this is just an additional gadget, but in practice it helps to remember to charge the brush, and it looks very nice.
The toothbrush can also be charged via a regular MicroUSB cable while in the case, which is convenient when traveling. On a single charge, the device lasts up to three weeks, even when used several times a day.
Philips Sonicare DiamondClean cleans 7x better than a conventional brush
This is exactly the statement written on the box. The main benefit is Philips’ innovative sonic technology that brushes your teeth seven times better than traditional toothbrushes. I have not been able to compare and fully confirm or deny this statement, but the fact that Philips Sonicare DiamondClean brushes your teeth is an experience incomparable to anything.
Sound waves penetrate deeply between the teeth, which, of course, has a positive effect on brushing, and, moreover, gives the effect of massaging the gums. It’s not an unpleasant experience anyway, but it does take habit.
In fact, I still can’t get used to it, but this “massage” is not accidental – thanks to it, our gums should become healthier after two weeks of use.
Comfort incomparable with other brushes
There is something about the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean that is very difficult to explain, and that other brushes are not used, making a big difference between the two.
First, the comfort of use. The toothbrush is always waiting for us in its charging glass, and when we take it, it greets us with a very pleasant to the touch, matte texture, perfectly fits in the hand and prevents slipping during brushing.
Also, the feeling after brushing your teeth is significantly different from what we know from ordinary toothbrushes. It’s almost impossible to describe, but after the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean, you just feel like your mouth just got cleaner.
In addition, the supplied two brush heads are hard enough – not too soft, but not too hard, so as not to cause irritation.
We have five work programs to choose from – cleaning, whitening, polishing, gum massage and programs for sensitive teeth. At the beginning of use, the differences between the programs are almost imperceptible, except for their description, but the manufacturer recommends using the mode for sensitive teeth at the first stage. The nuances between modes are revealed only after a time of use.
A plus here is also the presence of a built-in counter with several programs, as well as with intervals of 30 seconds. You shouldn’t be wondering if I have been brushing my teeth for a sufficient amount of time, just set a timer on your smartphone, because the toothbrush alone can finish working, for example, after 2 minutes of brushing. It seems to be a trifle, but very useful.
The manufacturer guarantees that within a week, our teeth will be about two shades whiter, and although I did not notice this, since it seems to me to be more long-term changes (at least not in such a short period of time), the difference after several days of use is clear and noticeable.
This intelligent change in our lives is available in four different colors.
But keep in mind that we are paying a high price for a premium product. A brush that not only cleans teeth much more accurately than traditional solutions, which is based on acoustic brushing technology and is able to provide an excellent result with a noticeably more comfortable use.
And the greater the comfort, the more often and more likely we will brush our teeth, and therefore the better we will take care of them. Philips Sonicare DiamondClean certainly does not replace our visit to the dentist. However, regular use will make dentist visits more rare than before.
