At the end of spring 2019, Creative added a new model to the Pebble series of speakers – Pebble Plus. What changes and improvements have appeared in Pebble Plus we will consider in the review.
- System Format: 2.1
- Power (W): 8 W
- Minimum reproducible frequency (Hz): 50 Hz
- Maximum Frequency Response (Hz): 20,000 Hz
- Wired Type: 3.5 Jack
- Power: USB port
- Front speakers power: 2×2 W
- Subwoofer Power (W): 4 W
The compact dimensions of the Pebble Plus speaker system allow you to place it anywhere. The appearance of the system itself organically looks in combination with any technique, such as a laptop or tablet.
The appearance of the Pebble Plus satellites is no different from the Pebble satellites. The speakers also look at an angle of 45 degrees – for better sound transmission. On the left satellite is the Creative logo. On the right satellite is the volume control knob.
There are minor changes on the rear side of the right satellite: an additional cable for connecting a subwoofer was added and a gain switch was added at the bottom.
A feature of Pebble Plus was the addition of a subwoofer to the speaker system. Externally, the subwoofer resembles a cube that costs four legs. The body is made of MDF, which is covered with a matte film. The front and side walls are deaf.
At the back is an RCA connector for connecting.
Below is a good four-inch radiator, a socket of the bass reflex and legs with rubber pads.
Creative Pebble Plus can only be connected to a sound source via a 3.5mm jack. To power the Pebble Plus, a cable with a USB output is used. You can power the speakers using a computer or laptop, as well as using the power bank. Cable lengths are enough for convenient placement of satellites and a subwoofer.
The addition of a subwoofer had a positive effect on the sound quality of the speaker system. The subwoofer added surround and detail to the low frequencies. At the same time, the upper and middle frequencies are at the proper level. The bass is still saturated and when watching movies, the sounds of special effects do not merge into complete mess. When playing music at maximum volume, no defects were noticed.
Creative managed to improve the Pebble line and this model showed itself at its best. Can you say that the speaker system has become more balanced and versatile? Definitely yes. The sound has become more detailed, has no extraneous noise and crackles at any volume level. Pebble Plus is still easy to connect to the sound source and takes up a minimum of space. Considering all the advantages of this speaker system model and the price at the current time, I think that this is an excellent choice.
